We're always working on new features and improvements. Here's what's new.
March 2026
March is a big month for InspectEasy with the introduction of AI-powered report summaries, cost estimation, and 11 new inspection templates including Roof Inspection, Building Compliance, and Dilapidation for both AU and NZ markets. We've also increased photo limits and refined the input experience across the platform.
InspectEasy can now generate professional report summaries using AI. Simply add a Report Summary field to your template, and AI will analyse your inspection findings to produce a clear, concise summary — saving you valuable time on every report.
- Automatic Generation: AI analyses your inspection data — including statuses, comments, and defects — and generates a professional summary in seconds.
- Customisable Placement: Add the Report Summary field to any section of your template using the template builder.
- Fully Editable: Generated summaries are fully editable, so you can refine the wording before finalising your report.
Add itemised cost estimates directly within your inspection reports with the new Cost Estimation field type. Perfect for providing clients with indicative repair or rectification costs alongside your inspection findings.
- Itemised Costs: Add individual cost line items with descriptions and amounts directly within your report.
- Automatic Totalling: Costs are automatically summed and grouped by section in the generated PDF.
- Template-Level Setup: Configure cost estimation fields in your template so they appear automatically in every new report.
A major expansion of the template library with specialist inspection templates now available out of the box. All templates include pre-written agreements and terms and conditions.

February 2026
February focuses on performance, reliability, and quality-of-life improvements across the platform — including faster report syncing, more flexible Xero invoicing, and general system improvements.
You can now choose what appears as the reference on your Xero invoices and quotes. Select between the Report ID (default) or the Property Address to better match your preferred workflow.
- Flexible Reference: Choose "Report ID" or "Property Address" from your Xero integration settings.
- Automatic Fallback: If a property address isn't available, the reference falls back to the Report ID so your invoices always have a valid reference.
"Buyers Agent" is now available as a default contact type, making it quicker to assign the correct role when adding contacts to your reports.
Report syncing is now significantly faster resulting in quicker and more reliable syncs — especially for accounts with many reports.
We've refined the content layout in generated PDF reports for improved readability and a more polished presentation.
- Image Upload Reliability: Fixed a race condition when generating S3 upload credentials and improved error logging for upload failures, making photo uploads more reliable.
- Multi-Inspector Access: Reports are now correctly accessible across all inspectors on the same account, resolving an issue where reports assigned to one inspector weren't visible from another.

Mark template features as "Dynamic" to automatically update the feature name when adding a comment with a heading. Perfect for generic features like "Item 1", "Item 2", or "Item 3" that need to reflect the actual item being inspected based on what you find on site.
We've made significant improvements to how InspectEasy integrates with Xero, QuickBooks, and FreshBooks. These enhancements ensure your client data is handled correctly and invoices are more informative.
What's improved:
- Proper Name Handling: Client first and last names are now sent as separate fields to your accounting software, ensuring contacts are created with properly formatted names.
- Better Invoice Line Items: Invoice and quote line item descriptions now include both the inspection type and property address (e.g., "Building Inspection for 123 Main Street, Sydney NSW 2000"), making it easier to identify what each charge relates to.
- Quote-to-Invoice Linking: When you create an invoice for a report that already has a quote, InspectEasy now automatically links the invoice to the existing quote in your accounting system and marks the quote as accepted.
- Cleaner Client Records: Client records in your accounting software no longer include irrelevant address data, keeping your contact information clean and accurate.
