Downloading The App

If you haven't done so already, you can download the app from one of the following links based on your device operating system.

Logging In

To login to the app, you will require an inspector account be setup. Once this is done you can use the designated email and password for the inspector's account to access the app.

Conducting An Inspection

Starting an Inspection

To start an inspection, simply press the icon from the icon of the inspection type you wish to conduct from the dashboard screen. The inspection that you have an active subscription to will appear with a dark background. Any inspection types that you no longer have a subscription to will appear with a light grey background, or possibly may not even be visible at all.

Setting Inspection Details

The inspection details page is the first page of the inspection report. The first section on this page allows you to insert the property details, such as the address and a photo of the front of the property. The additional sections allow you to add the client, and agent details (if applicable).

The client details may be added later after the inspection is completed if desired.

The agent details, site contact and inspection notes fields are not displayed on the report and are for to quickly reference contact details for key individuals, or takes notes related to the inspection such as the inspection time, meeting location etc.

Sending a Pre-Inspection Agreement

If you would like to send a pre-inspection agreement, press the "Send Pre-Inspection Agreement" button in the bottom left of the screen. The button will turn green, indicating that the pre-inspection agreement will be sent the client designated above. Once the "Send Agreement" button is pressed the agreement will be emailed and the inspection will be saved so that you can return to it once the agreement has been accepted by your client.

Inspection Layout Overview

The inspection is structured in a logical flow so you can efficiently move around the property. Each section contains specific features related to that area of the property.

Inspection Timer

The inspection timer is currently for your reference only at this point. It will be integrated with additional features as they become available in the future. If you would like to pause or resume the timer, press and hold the timer for a second and it will either pause or resume.

Compass Pointer

To make it easier to orientate yourself during an inspection, a compass pointer can be found in the top right of the inspection screen. The compass pointer will show the direction the device is currently facing. Please be aware the direction indicated may not always be accurate due to external factors affecting the device's magnetometer.

Property Features

Each section in the report will contain several property features that can be inspected. If a feature isn't present at the property you are inspecting, you can add or remove features, as explained below.

All features are required to be answered to complete the inspection.

Adding New Features

New features can be added in two ways, you can duplicate from a feature that already exists in the inspection, this will mirror the structure and responses of that feature while giving you the ability to change the name of the feature. The second option is to manually create a new feature, this gives you finer control over the structure and responses that are added to the feature.

Duplicate An Existing Feature

To duplicate a feature, press the add feature button in the top right of the report window.

The "Copy Existing Feature Structure" button should be selected by default, if not press the "Copy Existing Feature Structure" button. Enter the name of your new feature, and select the feature that already exists in the report, that you would like to make a copy of and then press save feature to add it to the report.

Manually Creating A Feature

To manually create a feature, from the "Add New Feature" popup, press the "Create A Feature Manually button to switch to manual creation. From this section, you can add the name of the new feature you wish to add, and select the feature display type, explained under Property Features.

If you elect to not use the status icon layout, you will need to add a list of responses to your feature. These responses are what you will select from when the popup window opens, as seen in the image below.

You can add responses to the feature by typing in the name of the response, then pressing the plus icon to the right of the response to add it to the list, this can be repeated as many times as needed for each new response.

The newly created feature will appear at the bottom of the page you are currently on. Make sure you are on the correct section before adding the new feature to ensure it appears in the correct spot. To change the order of the features, visit the section on re-ordering features for more information.

Removing Existing Features

If a feature does not apply to the particular home you are inspecting, you can remove them by swiping the entire row the left which will make a trash icon visible, pressing the trash icon will remove the feature from the inspection.

Re-ordering Features

To re-order the list of features, press and hold the two arrows to the right of the feature you wish to move. A dotted border should appear around the feature. You can then drag the feature with your finger to the desired position.

Adding Comments To A Feature

To write notes on a feature, you can press the pen icon next to the feature, this will expand a comments box where you can type your comments.

Prefer to type comments on your computer?

Simply complete the report and then you can visit the website dashboard to easily add comments to the report before sending it.

Adding Photos

Photos can be added to a feature by pressing the camera icon. This will open a popup that allows you to add multiple photos to a feature. Press the "Take Photo" button to take a photo. You will have the option to take a photo using the device, or adding an existing photo that may already be on the device.

Adding Captions To A Photo

Once a photo has been taken, it will show a small preview of the photo, with an area to add a caption to the photo, this can be used to add an explanation to the photo if required.

Drawing On A Photo

An edit button will appear on the small preview of the photo. This allows you to annotate a photo an add arrows, or draw on the photo to further emphasise defects that are found within the photo.

If a photo has been edited an "Erase Edits" button will appear next to the edit button. The "Erase Edits" button can be used to remove any annotations from the photo and return it to its original state.

Changing Inspection Date & Time

Once an inspection has been started and saved, a clock icon will appear on the inspection details screen in the top right. This option allows you to make changes to the inspection date, time and duration.

You can only make changes to the inspection date and time after the inspection has been started. The option will not appear on newly started inspections.

Saving The Inspection

If you would like to save the inspection without completing it, you can press the three dots in the top right corner to expand the menu. From here you have the option to save the inspection, close the inspection without saving, or return to the inspection by pressing continue.

Completing The Inspection

Once you have added responses to all the features, you can complete the inspection by pressing the complete inspection button on the last section within the inspection.

An inspection can only be completed if all features have been answered. Completed features will have a green tick to the left of the feature name.

Managing Reports

The reports tab gives an overview of recent inspections on your account. It will show the lastest eight inspections and not the full list. To view the full list, you can use the search feature at the top of the screen.

Editing A Report

To make changes to a report, you can press on the report you wish to edit to view the report pages.

If you make changes to the report after it is completed, you can press complete inspection on the last section of the report to sync the report with the server. If you save the inspection instead, you will need to sync the report with the server manually.

Preview Report PDF

A report PDF can be previewed from the reports tab by pressing the clipboard icon. The clipboard icon will remain grey until the report has been processed. Once the report has been processed you will receive a notification on the device that the report is ready to be viewed. This process normally takes less than 10 seconds. Once the notification has been received the clipboard icon will change colour denoting that the report is ready to be viewed.

Email to Report Recipients

If you are happy with the report and would like to email it to the client, you can do so by pressing the envelope icon. This will open a popup where you can add a list of recipients that you would like to send the report to. You can add or remove multiple recipients. Once the recipients have been added or confirmed as correct you can press "Send Report" to email the report to each recipient. The email will contain the report, as well as the accompanying terms and conditions for the report (if applicable) as PDF attachments.

Manually Sync Report With The Server

If you would like to force an update of the report, you can do so by pressing the cloud upload icon on the reports page. This will upload the report to the server and compile a new report PDF with any changes that have been made.

Deleting A Report

To delete a report from the app, swipe the report to the left with your finger. A trash icon will appear which can be pressed to remove the report. Removing the report will only remove it from the device and not the server if it has been completed or uploaded.

Search All Inspections

The search box at the top of the reports page can be used to search all inspections currently on the device. You can search by address, town, state, postcode, client name, client email, client phone and inspection type.

Download Inspections To The App

If you would like to download your inspections from the server back onto the app, for example after switching to a new device. You can do so by pressing the download icon in the top right of the reports page. A popup will appear with all the inspections completed by you that are on the server. To download a report, simply press the download icon to the right of the report. If the report is already on the device, a green tick will appear in place of the download icon.

View Profile

The profile screen highlights your current company details and inspector profile. These details can be changed from the dashboard and are for reference only.

Change Settings

The settings screen is used to check the currently installed version and currently can make changes to how photos are used by the app. If you would like to store any photos taken within the app on the device you can select the "Save Photos To Device" option to do so.

If you would like to unlink your inspector account from a particular device, press the logout button.
